The time has come! The challenge is here!
The challenge begins Saturday morning (but if you need to start
early, we totally understand) and we're all very excited!
So before the big rush, here's some info for you about the challenge.
And there's plenty more on the official site
http://comikaze24.com
and the forums
http://forums.pulpfaction.net/viewforum.php?f=43

THE CHALLENGE
The challenge occurs over the weekend but you must stop 24 hours
after you start. So if you start at 11am on saturday morning you must
finish by 11am on Sunday.

You can start any time you wish within the challenge period (11am Saturday
until 11pm Monday), but whenever you start you have 24 hours from that
moment to finish. (You must start your forum thread when you start the
challenge so your progress and time can be tracked.)

So, just to be clear (or belabour the point hehe):
People can start whenever they like during the weekend, but they must
stop 24 hours later or by 11pm Monday night.

SPECIAL INSERT WORDS/OBJECTS
With special inserts, it depends on when you start; if you start
between 11am Saturday and 10:59am Sunday morning (Australian east coast
time) then you use the Saturday morning words/objects. If you start
after 11am Sunday you use the Sunday words. And if you start
after 11am Monday morning, then you use the Monday insert items.
(For those who have to work weekends, we understand and will make a
special set of words available on Friday for you.)

The words/items will be posted on the forums and website at 11am each
day. If you do the full 24 pages and want to be eligible for the judges'
grand prize, you need to get all of the inserts in your story.
If you are doing fewer pages (or don't want to win the fabulous
judges's prizes, you weirdo) you don't necessarily have to use all
the items. BUt be aware that not doing so may affect how people vote
for your entry. Plus... it's fun trying to fit them in!

NAMING YOUR ENTRY
1. Go to the 24hrs in Oz Comics Challenge forum that you wish to post in
GENERAL: http://forums.pulpfaction.net/viewforum.php?f=43
-or-
MATURE: http://forums.pulpfaction.net/viewforum.php?f=49
For more info, please read through the rules at http://comikaze24.com
2. Click "New Topic" up top.
3. The Subject line of your new topic should be in the form
Your Name - Story Title - Your location
Note: If you're entering the Manga category, YOU MUST add "Manga: "
to the title of your story to be eligible to win in the Manga category.
Don't worry. You can go back and edit your initial post up until the end
of the challenge if you need to change the Title (but not after).
4. Write something about yourself and your upcoming challenge entry
in your first post. Are you with friends, will you do the full 24, etc.?
5. Draw your first page, get it scanned and add it to your entry (go
to your topic and click "reply").
(If you answered "Need hosting" you will have 3MB of space at PF to
attach your images. When you click 'reply' you will see an option to
add an attached image [jpg, png or gif])

IMAGE FILE RECOMMENDATIONS
* If your page is B&W, scan it as greyscale. For colour, scan as
colour/photo.
Most people scan at between 150 to 300 DPI so they have nice big
copies for their own keeping.
* Once scanned, you'll want to save a scaled-down image suitable for
posting online (72dpi). If it takes too long to load or takes up too
much screen, people might not take the time to read.
*You should make your image browser friendly and keep the file size
down.
We suggest you re-size your final image to be no wider than about
500-600 pixels (somewhere around 550x780 for A3 originals is a
perfect size).
And, finally, save your image as a JPEG at around 60-70% quality
(30-40% compression).
(if you're using Photoshop, the 'save for web' option is a quick,
easy way to do this)
(and, by all means, keep a higher resolution version for yourself!)
The average file size should run from about 70k to 200k.
Larger than that and you your file may load slow and annoy readers.
(And if you're hosting at Pulp Faction, you could run out of space.)
* Save your page with a filename that helps us when we archive them:
First 3 letters of your first name, first 3 letters of surname and
the page number (in double digit format) and the file extenstion.
Examples: magmcf01.jpg, magmcf02.jpg, magmacf03.jpg, etc.
This is a huge help to us. :)

MISCELLANEOUS
Check the forums for last minute gatherings if you're aching to get
out and see people.
One of the best pieces of advice is to not think 'I need stimulants
and sugar to keep me up' as you'll find these will end up causing a
crash later. Eat energy foods and don't start hitting the coffee or
tea until you really need it. (so that the crash comes closer to you
actually... crashing - unless you're just one of those coffee people.)
It's not going to help you when you're fresh, anyway. Drink plenty
of fluids and, please, if you feel odd or dizzy or muddled, just stop.
No one will hold it against you.

See you at the challenge!
